YOUNG CHAMPION: See Sean Brame, in the Body& Mind insert of the Harrisburg Patriot News Newspaper, Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Sean, age thirteen, a quad amputee, the youngest member of the AST, and an ACA Certified Peer Visitor, is also an honorary member of the City Islanders, a professional soccer team. At a youth soccer game in April 2005, Brame of York Haven, PA, sprained his ankle. Within 24 hours, his mother Carol Brame, rushed Sean to the emergency room where doctors discovered that a serious bacterial infection was rapidly causing his major organs to fail. The four
amputations, involving both legs and both hands, saved his
life. None of this kept Sean from becoming a champion for
the rights of people with limb loss.

AST thanks Mrs. Jan Zink's Boiling Springs HS Life Skills Class for assembling & labeling our Newsletters.
